The Article section renders the complete blog post page — including the hero image, a reading progress bar, table of contents, article body, social sharing links, tags, comments, and a related articles grid. It is a page-level section used exclusively on article templates to control how individual blog posts are displayed.

How to Configure the Section

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize.
  2. Use the page selector at the top to navigate to an Article template page.
  3. Select the Article section from the left sidebar.
  4. Adjust the settings and click Save.

Reading Experience

  • Show reading progress: When enabled, a thin progress bar appears at the top of the browser window indicating how far down the article the reader has scrolled.
  • Show hero image: Toggle to show or hide the article’s featured image at the top of the post.
  • Hero image ratio: Sets the aspect ratio of the hero image — options include Adapt (original), Cinema (21:9), Wide, and Landscape.
  • Show table of contents: Automatically generates a floating table of contents from all H2 headings found in the article body.

Sharing & Tags

  • Show share: Displays social sharing links (e.g., copy link, share on social) below the article body.
  • Show tags: Displays the article’s tags as clickable chips, allowing readers to browse related content.

Comments

  • Show comments: Renders the Shopify comments section below the article. Requires blog comments to be enabled in your Shopify admin under Content → Blogs.
  • Comments eyebrow: Small label text above the comments section heading.
  • Comments per page: Number of comments displayed per pagination page (range: 5–20).
  • Show moderation note: When enabled, displays a notice informing readers that new comments are held for moderation before appearing.
  • Show related articles: Displays a grid of related articles at the bottom of the page.
  • Related count: Number of related articles to show (range: 1–4).
  • Show previous / next: Displays navigation links to the previous and next article in the blog. Note: works for blogs with up to 50 articles.

  • Color scheme: Choose a color scheme for the section.
